Hygiene is where most patients decide whether they trust a practice, and it is the hardest job in the building to do well when you are handed forty minutes and a broken schedule.

We give our hygienists appointment times that match the patient in the chair, help on the days the column warrants it, and a doctor who reads the periodontal charting and backs the recommendation.

If you have spent years running behind in a practice that treats hygiene as a loss leader, this will be a different experience.

What you'll do

Perform prophylaxis, scaling and root planing, and periodontal maintenance appropriate to each patient's diagnosis.
Complete full periodontal charting and take radiographs on the recall interval.
Screen for oral cancer, decay, and periodontal disease, and flag findings for the doctor.
Educate patients on home care in a way that actually changes what they do at the sink.
Apply fluoride and sealants, and administer local anesthetic where state law allows.
Keep clinical notes complete and maintain sterilization standards.

What we're looking for

Active dental hygiene license in North Carolina and current CPR/BLS certification.
Local anesthesia certification where the state offers it.
Thorough periodontal charting habits — we read them, and we treat from them.
Gentle hands and the patience to bring a fearful patient back onto a schedule.
New graduates welcome; you will work alongside an experienced hygienist while you find your rhythm.

Scheduled to the patient rather than to a fixed block — a healthy recall and a heavy periodontal case are not given the same time.

Do you have part-time hours?

We are hiring full-time first, but tell us what you need. We would rather work around a good hygienist's schedule than lose them over it.

Do you pay for CE and license renewal?

Yes — we cover the continuing education required to keep your license current.

Will I have an assistant?

On the days the schedule warrants it, yes.
